Subjects in DELCAT:

Entries may be displayed under "Del." in an alphabetical list. In some cases, the word "Delaware" may not appear in the record; keyword searching will not retrieve these publications. Always supplement  keyword search with a Browse by Subject in DELCAT.

Example:

• New Castle County (Del.)
• Newark (Del.)

State Agencies in Authors and Subjects in DELCAT:

For Delaware state agencies, the abbreviation "dept." often appears instead of the word "Department."

Example:

• Delaware. Dept. of Correction

If there are questions about the name of a Delaware agency, see the list Agency Histories or ask at the Reference Desk.

 

In WorldCat Local, both "dept." and "Department" will be retrieved in a search for either one.
