Library Information
The Marine Studies Library is a branch library serving the faculty, staff, and students of the School of Marine Science and Policy in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment.
It provides a specialized collection of approximately 19,000 books and bound periodicals on marine biology and biochemistry; chemical, physical and biological oceanography; marine geology; and aquaculture. Seating is available for approximately 50 users including spaces at public terminals for access to library and World Wide Web resources in marine studies and related subject areas. Group study areas are also provided. The facility provides wireless access to the University network. This branch library is located on the Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes, Delaware, in the Cannon Laboratory. Further information about services and collections is listed below, with details on specific services and resources.
Delivery to and from Marine Studies Library
There is an online form for these requests available in the Forms section of the Library Home Page. Otherwise you may ask at the Circulation Desk in Morris Library or at the Service Desk in any Branch Library for retrieval of books and journals located in the Marine Studies Library. For instructions in using the form, call the Morris Library Circulation Desk at (302) 831-2455. For delivery of articles from periodicals and journals, please use the Interlibrary Loan form to obtain single articles from the Lewes Library, or from Morris, if you are located in Lewes.
Other Branches
The University of Delaware has three other branch libraries which are available for use by all members of the University Community. The branch libraries are important sources of scientific and technical information.
The Agriculture Library emphasizes agriculture and related areas in biology, biochemistry, and veterinary medicine.
