Digital Scholarship & Publishing at UDel Library is a newly formed team as of Summer 2019! 

This team includes:

Digital Scholarship Resources

There are a number of digital tools available that can be used for digital research projects. Below are just a few that the University of Delaware library staff have some expertise in. We welcome questions about tools and methods not included in this list as we may be able to connect scholars with appropriate resources. Data Visualization & Mapping

  • Tableau Public & Tableau Desktop: Tableau Public is free software that can allow anyone to connect to a spreadsheet or file and create interactive data visualizations for the web. Tableau Desktop enables you to save visualizations locally. Gallery of examples; Getting started with Tableau
  • Microsoft Excel charts: excel chart types
  • PolicyMap: digital mapping tool that enables users to create maps and provides access to more than 37,000 indicators related to demographics, income/spending, housing, lending, quality of life, economy, education, health,  jobs, crime, and education. Data available through PolicyMap, demoaccess here
  • StoryMapsJS: open-source tool to help tell stories on the web that highlight the locations of a series of events. Example of StorymapsJSaccess here  
  • TimelineJS: open-source tool that allows publishers to quickly and easily create interactive, media-rich timelines using nothing more than a Google Spreadsheet. examples of TimelineJS access here
