The citation must identify the article's authors, its title, and the details of its published location. The recommended format is one common to many scientific journals (including those published by the American Chemical Society):

  • FORMAT: Author 1; Author 2; Author 3 etc. Article Title. Journal Abbreviation, Year, Volume, Inclusive pagination.
  • EXAMPLE: Vermeulen, C.; Lejeune, I.; Tran, T.T.H.; Collin, S. Occurrence of Polyfunctional Thiols in Fresh Lager Beers. J. Agric. Food Chem., 2006, 54, 5061-5068. DOI: 10.1021/jf060669a

See the ACS Quick Style Guide for other examples: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/acsguide.40303
