Building on the foundation of the formerly named Library Diversity Committee (LDC), the IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-racism, Accessibility, and Social Justice) Committee will support the University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press by facilitating programming and professional development opportunities for staff as well as through assessment of past, present, and future structures with a focus on cultural harms that may be embedded in our practices. An early focus will be placed on anti-racist work, but with no intention to exclude other important inequities (e.g. patriarchy, ableism, homophobia, antisemitism, etc). The ultimate goal of the committee is to empower our colleagues to operationalize the values found in the Library, Museums and Press Strategic Directions as well as the values of the University.
