BISC208i: Introductory Biology II

Welcome!

This course guide contains information that will assist you to successfully complete your course assignments. This introductory section has information on how to access the Library's resources from off-campus and a link to the Interlibrary Loan service. If you need any assistance, don't hesitate to start a chat session using the Ask the Library, or you can reach out to me.

The Research Strategy section reviews the basic steps in the search process. It's a good investment of your time to think about your topic, what you want to know and which terms you'll use when you start exploring the topic. When searching for articles, refer to the Journal Literature section, which lists a few subject specific and multidisciplinary databases. Databases index and organize information on many journals and their articles, and can be the most efficient way to research a topic. The Writing & Citing section provides a few resources on how to write a scientific papers as well as information for citation formats. Finally, the Multimedia Literacy: Audio section is where you can learn about creating podcasts. The SMDC chat service there will be able to assist you with any questions.

From Off Campus

Most Library online resources can be accessed from off campus by current UD faculty, staff, and students. When using links on these pages, you may be prompted for your UDelNetID and password. Please report any issues you encounter while accessing Library databases, e-journals, or e-books.

Interlibrary Loan

Books and other materials not held by the UD Library may be obtained by Interlibrary Loan. This service is available to UD faculty, students, and staff.

Requests may be submitted by going to Interlibrary Loan.
