Video Projects

This page includes key materials to help you design and implement a video assignment. It includes both instructor resources and student-facing guides. To discuss adapting these materials for your course, contact Amanda McCollom. All materials are licensed CC-BY-NC 4.0.

Canvas Module

Consider adding a Canvas module to provide your students with the necessary resources for their project in a familiar space. Modules are available to import from Canvas Commons and can be customized as needed.

  • The "Video Project Resources" module includes more in-depth resources for video projects including brainstorming questions, tips for script-writing and storyboarding, production basics, finding open-licensed creative content, and a variety of video editing tools and tutorials.
  • The "Library Resources for Multimedia Projects" module includes separate pages for video, podcast, and graphic design projects. You can unpublish pages that don’t apply to your assignment or leave all three available if students have format options. Feel free to rename the module and customize it as needed.

If the direct link doesn’t work, search Canvas Commons for “Library Resources for Multimedia Projects” or “Amanda McCollom.” You can also add Amanda as a resource in your Canvas course for help integrating the module or adding custom content.

For Instructors

Resources to Share with Students

**You will be asked to make a copy for all Google Doc/Slides materials. Instructors should remove or add questions to worksheets as needed. Create your own version of the worksheet and then change the end of the URL to /copy- this will allow students to create their own copies.**
