Instructor Resources
Librarians can provide feedback on your assignment, suggest resources for your students, and discuss additonal support options. For assignments involving video, audio or graphics, contact Amanda McCollom, multimedia literacy librarian, at amccoll@udel.edu.
You can also fill out our teaching collaboration request form to connect with a librarian or curator to discuss Library support options for your course.
Canvas Module
Many of the resources on the multimedia projects guides are also available as a Canvas module. Go to Canvas Commons and search “Library Resources for Multimedia Projects”; download and import into your Canvas course. This module contains separate pages for video projects, podcast projects, and graphic design projects. If your project is only graphic design-based, you can un-publish the other two pages. If your students can choose what they create, leave all pages published. Feel free to rename the module and customize content as needed.

- E110 Activity Repository: Creating Multimedia ProjectsCreated by UD librarians, this repository of activities addresses skills and concepts that E110 students need to practice throughout multiple phases of a research project. Instructors can select activities and adapt them as needed for their class context. This page specifically focuses on activities related to multimedia.
- Lesson Plans from Digital Writing and Research LabUniversity of Texas- Austin's Digital Writing and Research Lab (DWRL) has a collection of lesson plans, many of which are related to multimedia creation. Check out the "browse" page to see different tags related to timeline, type of assignment, and digital literacy pedagogical goals.
For your students
The best place for students to get help with equipment and software is at the Student Multimedia Design Center desk, located on the lower level of Morris Library. The SMDC provides production studios for recording and editing, multimedia editing software, multimedia equipment for loan and staff expertise.
Equipment can be borrowed at the SMDC desk for three days a time; no advance reservations.
Students can also schedule a consultation with a librarian to get individual help with a tool or project.
