SMDC librarians provide teaching and learning support for multimedia assignments, typically videos and podcasts, through one-shot instruction sessions. A standard video or podcast class may include: a tour of the SMDC, an overview of Creative Commons and demonstration of finding CC images, video, and music for projects, and a tutorial of iMovie (video projects) or Audacity (podcast projects). Lessons are designed for hands-on, active learning to allow students to gain familiarity with finding content and using new software. There is no expected skill level coming in, but lessons can be tailored for more advanced students.
If you have a different type of multimedia project, contact us to see what kind of instruction we can offer for your class.
