Finding Books in DELCAT Discovery

Searching DELCAT Discovery For Books

Some searching tips:

  • Use the Author field to search for works by an author, but use the Subject field to search for works about that author and his or her works.
  • The Advanced Search option limits by language.  This limit applies to the language in which a book was written, rather than the subject of the item.
  • An asterisk (*) can be used as a wildcard.  Search for "wom*n" to find items with woman or women in the record.
  • Library records include subject headings to indicate what a title is about.  Click on a subject heading in your search results to find other relevant titles.

Where are books located in the Library?

Books are shelved in the Library with a Library of Congress (LC) call number; see the UD Library's Call Numbers tutorial for help interpreting the call numbers you discover in DELCAT Discovery.

If an item's location is the Library Annex, you can place an online request for those items, which will be retrieved and held for you at the Morris Library Help Center.
