The Film & Video Collection supports instruction with an interdisciplinary collection of audiovisual content in physical and streaming formats. The physical collection is located on the lower level of Morris Library and serviced by the Student Multimedia Design Center (SMDC). The collection includes over 25,000 programs on DVD, Blu-ray, videogaming, legacy formats, and 70,000+ streaming. Contact the Film & Video Librarian with questions about the collection and to request new materials. The SMDC is available to help people using audiovisual materials in the Library. Individual and group viewing carrels, a gaming area, and a 40-seat viewing room are available. You can schedule the Viewing Room for class use and you can place a request to ensure physical media is available when your class needs it.
Alexander Street Press collections allow you to create playlists of videos or segments of videos within the database. You can also create playlists containing various types of documents, images, videos, segments, and/or other items such as URLs. Playlists can be annotated, edited, copied, and shared. All playlists contain their own unique static URL so you can link from Canvas or your syllabus.
Kanopy Collection titles are licensed for 1 or 3 years, and occasionally, in perpetuity. To see when licenses are set to expire for eVideo content, search DELCAT Discovery for the title and scroll down to the View Online section of the record. Reach out to the Film & Video Collection Librarian if your class requires an extension or if you want to use a Kanopy title that we do not have access to. You can use the Email Me button on this page to request.
