ORCID Workshop for Researchers

by Maria Barefoot on 2023-02-09T09:45:47-05:00 | 0 Comments

How common is your name? Have you ever looked yourself up in a database or Google Scholar? As librarians, we spend a lot of time trying to identify bodies of research including collected works by different authors. We often encounter the problem of not being completely sure if the author of one paper is the same author from another. One way for you to be sure that other researchers can find your work is by registering for an ORCID number. This unique identifier allows you to collect your research in one place, manage name changes without losing recognition for your work, and share your work easily with others. One way you can do this is to include your ORCID in your email signature. This makes your body of writing easy for other researchers to find and use.

ORCID is offering a virtual workshop this semester for researchers that will cover what it is, how it can save you time, and how you can keep your scholarly profile updated. The workshop is on Feb 22 at 11AM EST and you can use this link to register:
